An old habit for many can actually be harmful to your physical health. Many keep their wallet in their back pocket, including while they are seated. This habit can lead to a number of physical ailments including back pain, sciatica, neck pain, as well as hip and knee pain.

When we sit with our wallet in our back pocket for long periods of time such as driving in the car or at work all day on a continuous basis, it can cause pelvic unleveling due to one side of your pelvis being constantly elevated. This unleveling causes an imbalance in your physiological makeup and can lead to the many problems mentioned above. The wallet compromises your posture and forces your spine out of proper alignment.

Try to avoid storing your wallet in your back pocket when sitting at your desk at work and while driving in the car. Your body will thank you!
